Moneglia… “always a good idea.”
Audrey Hepburn
The seaside village of Moneglia, one of the "Most Beautiful Villages of Italy", part of the Baie del Levante, is a country that treasures the many tourists both Italians and foreigners who every season come back to liven up the atmosphere of the beaches, typical carruggi shops, and many typical activities.
Its strategic and enviable position makes it the ideal base for a holiday to discover the other extraordinary riverside resorts and the Outback.
Moneglia is an Italian municipality of the metropolitan city of Genoa in Liguria.
The territory of Moneglia is located on the Riviera di Levante, east of Genoa, of which it is the last eastern commune of the metropolitan area, and about 30 km from La Spezia.
The village is located in a large bay bordered by two promontories, both rich in Mediterranean vegetation and pine forests: to the west lies the promontory of Punta Moneglia and to the east the tip of Punta Rospo. While the former is entirely wild and only reachable by paths, which go upwards to the mountains Comunaglia and Moneglia, the latter has several residential areas up to the village of Lemeglio.
The territory of Moneglia is mainly crossed by two torrential rivers, often in dry or with scarcity in the warmer months, and by numerous streams that descend from the hills around the town. In the western part of the village flows the torrent San Lorenzo, covered in its final stretch and used as a road and parking, while in the east flows the stream Bisagno.
